I’m not gonna neg on Astérix, but how good could it be if it’s named after a seldom-used punctuation? I’m Tintin all the way, and my wife’s family is Belgian, so they claim the racist, drunk-blind Herge for their own. Aside from the blatant white jingoism, those full page drawings were astonishing. I spent many a happy hour poring over them with one child or another on my lap, and shouting Cap’n Haddock curses at one another. We even read them in French! Herge all the way!
