Looks like an amazing time, but you are not in northern Michigan in Traverse City :)....you are in lower Michigan... above the bridge is upper (northern) Michigan...it's a beautiful area...enjoy!

My lack of Mitten knowledge is showing! ✋

above the bridge are the Yoopers, below the bridge are the Trolls :) Where the bridge is (one of the longest suspension bridges in the world) in the Straits of Mackinac where Lake Huron meets Lake Michigan...is Mackinac Island...where there are no cars...only hose and buggy and bikes. That's the setting for my six cozy mystery novels. I'm an artist and author and a big fan of your work...If you can ever get to Mackinac Island from May-Oct. (about 3 hrs north of Traverse City)...well worth the trip.

Michele — thank you for that. I’d love to see your work. What are the novels called?

Being Ethel (In a world that loves Lucy)

Being Dorothy (In a world longing for home)

Being Alice (In a world lost in the looking glass)

Being Wendy (In a world afraid to grow up)

Being Nancy (In a world lost in mystery) Zibby award winner...for all those who grew up loving Nancy Drew!

Being Goldie (In a "just-right" world)

Each story is filled with mystery, mayhem, and miracles, and a splash of romance. I do the paintings for the cover postcards. I also took Hillary Fitzgerald Campbells cartooning class a few years ago, and just did a caricature seminar weekend with Tom Richmond - who does tons of MAD magazine pieces. I'm a rookie but loving all the art. I'm at LakeGirlPublishing.com

Fifty years ago next month, I moved from Michigan: my grandparents lived in Wellston, and we made lots of trips to Traverse City when I was a kid. I have a lot of reasons to get angry at missed opportunities had I stayed (hanging out with Sam Raimi and Rob Paulson when we were all kids, for instance), but discovering that Traverse City is now a comedy powerhouse is a big one. Good luck to you all, and now I have yet another reason to come back for one last big visit of the state.
