Love the cartoon for someone you might like and Love Cafe Anne! I’m a New Yorker living in Chicago and the Eric Adams updates and the war on rats is a great way to start any week!
Just to let you know that I like the 'Morris says hello' . . . we are currently down to three dogs (from a high of seven plus fosters). Lived in WI for 60+ years; am currently living in [gulp] FL. Politically incorrect, but the weather is heaven on earth.
Ha! Don't worry- I get it: the weather is insanely nice. I won't hold the Floridian political ideologies against you; after all, you're doing God's (Dog's?) work fostering those little ones! I'm working with Animal Care Shelters of NYC for an up-coming project. Such amazing work you all do for our little furry pals.
Hi Jason: I keep unsubscribing to certain e-mails, or if necessary, set up a rule to send them to the junk pile. It's still a chore to get through my e-mails every day. When I see your post, it puts a smile on my face. Always a delight to catch your humor and to get a hello from Morris. I'm 81 years old, still working and I live in, much malaigned but still wonderous, San Francisco. I have one passion left: bocce! David
Hi John Miller from Canberra, the national capital of Australia. Andrea, you're right about Morris. I also enjoy his weekly 'Hello'. He's the star of the show, the creative genius. He pulls the strings. All Chatfield does is draw the cartoons and swan around seedy joints on Long Island. I loved the drawing of Morris sitting by the fire hydrant, watching a bloke ride past on his bike while looking a his phone.
We are elderly geezers who live in Kansas (about half a mile from the Missouri border) with our two also elderly Frenchies (Quibble and Leif). Jason’s humor, and Morris, help keep us more or less sane.
Im Mimo! I love telling stories and do my best to share them with everyone here. I also started a Creatives Magazine project to help everyone be part of something that can motivate them to bring their work, ideas and stories into the world.
Also Im doing the treacherous journey of getting out of pencils into digital ink.
Thank you for the tip, I will check it out! Im currently in the ipad wagon, and you might not believe it but its my main and only device (besides the phone because uber lol)

Isn't she great? I'm glad you have found her. Hope she brings you as much joy as she does the rest of us.
She is! I love the accompanying photos, too. The one of Mayor Adams, Judge Judy and Cardinal Dolan is iconic. 😂 Really enjoying your work, Jason!
Café Anne is one of substack’s treasures!
Agreed!

David,
I’m grateful I made the cut! I plan to still be working at 81– you’re a beacon!
Hoping you land as close to the pallino/jack as possible.
I love bocce.
I love that you're here! Substack is awesome and so is your work. A perfect pair!
Very nice of you to say -- thank you, Khalid!

All of the above is 100% true.
Hi, Jason! Loving the new substack. Been following along. : )
Cheers, Jesse :)
Hoping to see you at the Reubens in NJ!
Same! I'll be there!

Jan, If you're relying on my humor to keep you sane, you're on very shaky ground.
(Give Quibble & Leif a big squeeze)
Love the spontaneity of it all!

Thanks Mimo! Good luck making the jump. If you Google “Wacom Jason Chatfield” you can see some digital drawing demos that might help
