I put "a mix of both" though it feels more like "I'll read whatever" - basically, if you have a bunch of shorter posts, I'd rather those get published as they come rather than saved for a single longer post. But I also love your longer, deeper dives, whenever those get made. Is this helping? This is not helping. Happy New Year!
I’ll read whatever you write, whenever you post them. To reduce pressure on you,…unless you want pressure to get you moving, then mix of both is my second choice.
I’m in the “whatever” camp as in “whatever doesn’t burn you out”. I subscribe because you are already delivering what I look for — inspiring work and a sense of what it really takes to do the kind of work you do. I’ve been considering a leap into doing a similar kind of freelance, and I see in your drawing and writing a realistic view of what that kind of day-to-day might look like, both the highs (killer work and getting to rub elbows with some of the gods of cartooning) and the lows (meeting deadlines at 4 am and dealing with the sea change that AI appears to be bringing). So, I say, keep it coming! Thanks for sharing so much of yourself with this community.
I put "5" because I'm worried you are going to burn out, and I love what you do. I see the care in the longer posts (that kind of writing takes effort), but I am also struggling to keep up with it all and feel bad when I don't read a post all the way through. So a mix is good. Ta!
Mix of both. And you're right about the inbox. I have to spend far too much time of my day weeding through that carnage. Your emails make the preferred list, especially if it's about the art of cartooning and any sketches you make, and of course Morris.
Do what you can manage and don't feed the beast. As a reader it's hard to keep up with all the posts/subs/etc that fill our inboxes. I'd rather read quality posts at my leisure than the awful feeling of "slipping behind" a torrent of daily posts. Substacks relentlessly pile up my inbox of like old New Yorkers (the magazine, not people).
I am bias. I read/hear opinions from major news outlets (except for FOX and podcasters) and magazines to get a feel for what or how people think. I encourage those whom I believe share a fair assessment of our current situation. I realize that you need to survive. I donate occasionally but never regularly. I do not subscribe. Thanks for taking a poll.

However, I really do not like the posts that refer back to earlier posts, and perhaps function as a reader's digest version. I get confused as to whether or not I've already read something, or need to click through and follow up, etc.
I chose 'a mix of both' because I enjoy your clever quick posts on life in NYC, but also immensely enjoy the deeper dives into life as a comic artist. As a big fan of the Big Apple, I find your stories, with your particular view, on life in NYC very interesting. Also as an outsider to your industry, it's interesting to hear about
your work, places you visit (friends and gigs), and general discussions. It speaks volumes about the quality of your work that your audience comes from a wide variety of career backgrounds.
There’s a rumor that art is ‘self expression’. So whatever you are moved (drop-kicked?) to do, I appreciate. Never boring.
Many share your profound respect for the Ol’ Lions of cartooning, and that’s a world I would be unlikely to see otherwise, so those stories always inspire some further research. Thanks!
Must say however… I’ve become drug-dependent on the dopamine hit that is a picture of Morris; who contains multitudes. 😻
I prefer the longer posts. Many of the outlets are adopting shorter formats, and I really appreciate how human, funny, and thoughtful your content is. I also like the pictures of Morris and the cartoons he stars in. Keep them coming! -J

This is helping!
I enjoy the long posts as I admire and enjoy your talent for writing and capturing the experiences, humor and deep thought into art and life.
Thank you Janice!

I really appreciate that, Mike. Thank you for the feedback!
You're not wrong about the highs and lows. It's a rollercoaster ride, but that's why we're here right?

daily cartoons with a longer post 1-2x week and I absolutely need to see pictures of Morris regularly- Thanks for asking friend 😍

Love the longer posts and the thoughtful, funny way they make so much sense!!

I’ve got a stack of old New Yorkers piling up on my porch. I’m too polite to ask them to leave.

Thanks so much, Josh. That's helpful feedback!
I'll definitely continue with that. (And Morris, of course :)
Whatever! I enjoy your writing! Merry merry from one of your biggest fans.
And a very Debbie Christmas to you and yours! 🙏
